SBTE maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy to ensure a safe, stress-free campus environment. Ragging is a criminal offense that can lead to permanent expulsion and legal prosecution.
About Ragging
Official specifications & guidelinesRagging in any form is banned inside and outside the campus. Strict action is taken against persons flouting this rule; no leniency is shown. Suspension and/or withdrawal from the hostel/college is the first action against the offender. The Supreme Court of India has also defined ragging as a criminal offense.
Definition of Ragging
Official specifications & guidelinesIncludes any act of physical or mental abuse, bullying, or exclusion targeted at any student based on color, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, or appearance.
Institutional Measures
Official specifications & guidelinesEvery institute must establish an Anti-Ragging Committee (headed by the Principal) and an Anti-Ragging Squad for surprise inspections of hostels, canteens, and recreational rooms.
Mandatory Undertaking: It is compulsory for every student and parent to submit an online anti-ragging undertaking every academic year at antiragging.in.
